First version
So after two weeks of crunch like hacking, I finished an initial version of my multiplayer shooter, B.o.E. It features physics based movement that changes based on the vessel you are flying. The game features about a dozen guns that each have a different purpose: some should be used to drive off a fast enemy, others are meant to be used as short range bunker busters. There are about 25 Upgrades that increase damage, speed, range, turn and rise behaviour, armor and health. Oh, and mass, so equipping a have torpedo might change the feel of the vessel.
I think there are two thinks I will pursue now. First, there are only two drones and you can only differentiate a heavy one from a light one by its movement behaviour. I will have a look in U-Modeller and Surforge to create my own drones. By doing this step by step, I hope to change the exterior based on the upgrades, so a well equipped drone should look like a christmas tree.
The other think I need to change is balancing - currently some ships are way to fast and some projectiles way to slow. I will create a one-on-one environment where I can fight against a drone I configured and see if the movement as well as the shooting feels "right" and fun.
But currently you can play B.o.E. and I would be happy if you give it a try.
